Eagles edge Renton to snap winless streak; Foster shuts out Hazen | Seamount soccer

Lindbergh edged Renton 3-2 in a battle of rival soccer teams Friday.

The Eagles (2-7-2 overall, 2-5-1 Seamount) are now in sixth place in the league. Renton (0-7, 0-7) is in last and still searching for a win, despite improvement.

Renton took the lead when Cristian Martinez scored in the 18th minute.

Troy Jarmillo scored twice in the final minutes of the first half for Lindbergh, to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

Renton’s Vladimir Hernandez scored early in the second half to tie the score at 2-2.

Jaramillo scored again in the 52nd minute of the game to put Lindbergh ahead.

Renton has scored goals in two straight games after scoring just once before that. Lindbergh ended a five-game winless streak.

Lindbergh plays Tyee next, April 26. The Eagles fell to Tyee 5-2 April 1. Renton faces Tyee April 27. Tyee beat Renton 3-2 March 29.

 

Foster 1, Hazen 0

Foster shut out the Hazen soccer team 1-0 Friday.

The Highlanders (5-4-2, 5-2-2) are now in second place in the Seamount League, behind Kennedy Catholic (5-0-3 Seamount).

Omar Abdullah scored the game’s only goal in the 67th minute. Masse Gashay had the assist and Kamal Gulaliyev earned the shutout.

Hazen plays at Highline next, April 26. The Highlanders beat the Pirates 2-0 April 1 in the first meeting of the season.

Evergreen 5, Tyee 0

Evergreen cruised past Tyee 5-0 Friday.

The Wolverines (3-2-2, 3-2-2) haven’t lost in the month of April. Tyee (4-4, 2-3) was working on a two-game league winning streak after beating Lindbergh 5-2 and Renton 3-2.

Daniel Garcia scored twice for Evergreen. Dylan Laguire, Jorge Delgado and Jean Lyisabwa also scored for the Wolverines.
