Baseball: Lindbergh rolls over Tyee; Hazen loses slugfest; Renton falls to Rams

Lindbergh 17, Tyee 1

Lindbergh didn’t leave much doubt in a 17-1 win against Tyee Wednesday.

The Eagles (9-5 overall, 9-5 league) scored 15 runs in the first inning alone — after plating 19 first-inning runs against the Totems March 27.

Lindbergh rebounded after consecutive, one-run losses to Mount Rainier and Highline. That two losses were the team’s first multiple-game losing streak of the season.

Jordyn Perry started the game and pitched three innings. He allowed three hits, no runs, two walks and two strikeouts. Perry earned the win. He also went 2-4 at the plate with four RBIs.

Brandon Ybarra went 2-4 with a run and two RBIs. Bakari Davis went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Lawrence Collado went 2-2 with a run and an RBI.

The Eagles are now tied with Hazen for fourth place in the Seamount and two games behind Highline in third.

Kennedy 19, Hazen 12

In a good, old-fashioned slugfest Wednesday, Kennedy had a little more firepower and won against Hazen 19-12.

The Highlanders (9-6, 9-5) trailed by 12 runs at one point, but scored seven in the top of the fifth to bring the game back within grasping distance.

Chase Gordon, Chad Garton, Nick Sharp and Jimmy Schmidt pitched for Hazen.

Kevin Schwab scored two runs on offense and John Wall collected three hits.

Mount Rainier 12, Renton 1

Renton’s young team showed improvement Wednesday, but still lost 12-1 to Mount Rainier.

The Indians (1-13, 1-13) lost to the Rams 17-0 earlier this season.

Adrian Scott, John Nobis and Kendrick Billon all collected hits for Renton.
