Bakari Davis scores four times as Lindbergh moves past Foster easily, playoffs next | Football

It didn’t take long for the Lindbergh football team to send its message: The Eagles are the best 2A Seamount team by a long shot. Lindbergh went up 33-0 on the way to a 47-7 win against Foster Thursday night.

The Eagles (6-2 overall, 5-1 Seamount) will face Kingston (5-3, 4-2 Olympic) Nov. 6 for a trip to the state tournament. The loser is out.

Bakari Davis scored a rushing touchdown on each of Lindbergh’s first two drives, the first from 12 yards out and the second from 15. Davis finished the game with four rushing scores, giving him 17 on the season.

The Eagles scored on the first play of their third drive when Matt Stuart found Diondre Toms over the middle for a 73-yard touchdown pass.

After a Foster turnover on downs, Stuart connected with Isiah Corwin from 31 yards out on the next drive.

Foster fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Davis pushed in for a nine-yard score, giving Lindbergh a 33-0 lead and a nearly perfect first half. The Eagles scored touchdowns on each of their five drives.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with a 15-play drive capped off by a one-yard touchdown run from Aaron Rodriguez. This drive contained most of Lindbergh’s few mistakes on the night, including three offsides penalties. Two on a row turned a Foster third down and nine into a first down.

Lindbergh answered with touchdowns on its next two drives, a pass from Stuart to Cam Cullen and a Davis run.

On the night Lindbergh scored on every drive except its final one that lasted over six minutes and ended on Foster’s 13-yard line when the Eagles let the clock expire.
