Rolf Dragseth

Rolf Dragseth

Rolf Dragseth – loving husband, father, and grandfather – was born April 29, 1928. He served as an MP in the US military in Japan after WWII. He then obtained his masters degree in education from Western Washington University. For the next 25 years he devoted his life to teaching and retired in 1982 after being the principal of Kennydale Elementary School in Renton, Washington. Rolf not only loved education and family but had an equal love for the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping and gardening were Rolf’s passions and anyone who knew him could see the outdoor fanatic in him. From the cold fishing banks to the warm classroom Rolf’s drive and pursuit always made him good at whatever he did. On August 14, 2011 Rolf passed with the love and support of his family at the age of 83 after a two-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his son Tom. Rolf is survived by his wife of 59 years Della; two children Ann and Steffen; and three grandchildren Thomas, Daniel, and Christine. Rolf will be remembered as a passionate teacher and as a kind man who deeply cared for children and his family. As a celebration of his life, a service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Renton on Friday August 19th at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. He will always be in our hearts.
