Norma Claeys

Norma Jean Claeys (59) of Renton passed away on June 19, 2010. She was born in 1950 to Dave and Katherine (Bell) Hake. Norma enjoyed a close relationship with God from the time she was a small child, relishing Bible study and remaining uncompromising in her Biblical beliefs. Norma graduated Evergreen High School in 1969, and a few months later married John Dodds, with whom she had three daughters. The couple separated in 1983, and in 1988, Norma married Harold Claeys. Her career was spent at Boeing, Microsoft, Tenzing, and Globys. She also played piano for local ballet schools and rest homes. Harold and Norma attended the Renton Salvation Army for over 16 years. Recently Norma attended the Recovery Ministry churches in Bellevue and Renton. Norma was preceded in death by husband Harold (died 2007), and is survived by daughters Pamela (Chris; Duvall, WA), Barbara (Richard; West Valley City, UT), and Sandra (Stefan; Bellevue, WA), as well as several grandchildren: Lauren, Vanessa, Chris Jr., Tiffany, Ricky, Nicole, Sabrina, Andrew Levi, Josh, Charity, Sebastian, and Nathaniel Wyatt. She is also survived b her brothers Lee (Sheri; Texas) and Alan (Annette; Arkansas). A memorial service was held at The Church in Bellevue on June 22; graveside services were held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA, on June 23. Visit mem.com for Norma’s memorial.
