Louie Francis Donckers died peacefully on May 1, 2016. Louie was born in 1928 in Taylor, WA to Mary and Louie Donckers. He was the last survivor of their 12 children.

Louie is survived by his son Louie Jr. of Kent WA., daughter Debra (Tim) Furrow of Vancouver WA, daughter Sandy (Alan) Donckers-Avelino of Mercer Island WA, daughter-in- law Barb Ochoa of Seattle, WA and their extended families. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 1985 and son Bill in 2012.

Louie graduated from Tahoma high school and spent several years working in the Gladding, McBean brick yard in Taylor, Sunset Coal and Oil and retired from Boeing as a truck driver after 40 years. He enjoyed horse racing, watching the Mariners, the Seahawks and loved going to the local casinos and stuffing his winning tickets in his hat.

He was an icon in his neighborhood known as “the man in the window”. He enjoyed talking with neighbors and friends as they passed by. Many people will remember him as fun loving with a big heart who always found ways of giving and helping others who were less fortunate.

The family is planning a celebration of Louie’s life later this summer.
