Found with fentanyl: At 12:14 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue Northwest, officers contacted the occupants of a suspicious vehicle. Officers observed the passenger holding a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance. Officers determined the substance was fentanyl. The suspect was arrested and released with a citation for possession of a controlled substance.

Juvenile assault: At 3:53 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 6700 block of Southeast Fourth Street, officers responded to a report of an assault involving two juvenile males. The reporting party, the victim’s father, stated his son was assaulted while walking home from school. Once the son got home, the father called police. The victim confirmed the events, and an eyewitness also came forward to verify the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifter arrested: At 10:54 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 1200 block of North Landing Way, officers responded to a report of a suspected shoplifter. Loss prevention reported seeing the suspect leave the store without paying for several items. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree theft.

Disorderly conduct: At 6:47 p.m. Jan. 14 in the 800 block of South Third Street, officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute. Officers learned that a patron was causing a disturbance at the business and refused to leave or stop the behavior. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, removed from the premises, cited and released.

Uncooperative shooting victim: At 1:49 a.m. Jan. 14 at Valley Medical Center, officers responded to a report of a shooting victim with minor injuries. The victim was uncooperative and did not want to speak with officers, stating he did not know what happened to him or where the incident occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
