Early Sunday morning, Nov. 4,  a three-vehicle collision occurred that resulted in the death of a semi driver on southbound Interstate 5 near 336th Street. in Federal Way.  The collision is under investigation and detectives are asking anyone who may have seen the collisions or observed the vehicles involved prior to the collision to contact Detective Russ Haake at 425-401-7717.

Just before 2:30 a.m. a black Nissan Altima was traveling on southbound Interstate 5 just south of South 320th Street when the driver lost control and struck the guardrail on the west side of I-5. The Altima was then struck by a tan Toyota Camry, according to the state patrol.

The Altima was in lane two when it was struck by a tanker truck and trailer loaded with aviation fuel. The semi truck, badly damaged in the collision, left the freeway to the west, traveled down the embankment and struck the sound wall, breaking the wall down and rolling over, according to the state patrol.

The driver of the semi truck died.
