The westbound lanes of State Route 18 between State Route 167 and Interstate 5 near Auburn reopened early Tuesday morning, after being closed for nearly a week because of a mudslide.

The two lanes reopened at about 3:25 a.m. after state crews completed cleaning up the debris and rock and stabilizing the hillside.

SR 18 is a major route for commuters and freight haulers to reach I-5 from all over South King County.
