Seattle man shot in Renton

A 21-year-old man was shot twice on his left side as he was reportedly riding in the back seat of his friend’s Dodge Magnum Aug. 29.

His injuries are not life threatening, said police spokesperson Terri Vickers.

There are no suspects, and the victim wasn’t cooperative with the investigation and didn’t want to prosecute, she said.

Police heard about the shooting from the Valley Medical Center, which is required to report all gunshot wounds, according to a City of Renton police report.

When police asked the victim if he wanted their help, he told them if God wanted to punish the person who did it, he would, according to the report.

When asked where the shooting occurred, the victim said he didn’t know but it was somewhere in Renton.

The car was reportedly moving at the speed limit, about 25-40 mph.

However, the officer thought it was highly unlikely that the victim was shot in the manner reported, because the bullets were only two or three inches apart, according to the report.

Medical personnel think the bullets were likely 9 mm, according to the report.

The victim described himself as a rap artist from Seattle.
