A 23-year-old Renton woman known to officers repeatedly punched a clerk at a mini-mart March 28 on Bronson Way who was trying to get her to return a stolen can of Miller beer and the clerk’s reading glasses.

She had been trespassed from the store before.

The suspect left, but an officer spotted her, wrapped in a blanket, on Park Avenue North, where she was disrupting traffic not far from the mini-mart.

The woman moved on, but she was stopped again at Wells and South Second as a possible suspect in a robbery. She resisted officers’ efforts to take her into custody, including wrapping her leg around an officer’s leg.

Three officers were needed to finally get her in a patrol car. She was calm when jailers got her out of the car but resisted again when she saw other inmates being processed. She kicked a jailer and was subdued with a Taser.

She was to be cited in Renton Municipal Court for fourth-degree assault and third-degree theft.

BOY, 12, ROBBED OF HEADPHONES: A 12-year-old boy walking on Kirkland Avenue Northeast to meet his mother at about 6:30 p.m. March 25 was robbed of his headphones by two males in their late teens.

After he refused to show the two his Beats by Dre headphones, he was punched in the face just below his eye. The second suspect took his headphones and the two fled.

ASSAULT DOWNTOWN: A 23-year-old Renton man was arrested March 25 in downtown Renton after he admitted to assaulting a Seattle woman he claims stole his backpack.

The two got into a pushing match at about 10:40 p.m. at South Third Street and Main Avenue South. Police found the woman, crying and bleeding from her hands; she had been placed in a headlock and was punched in the head.

The suspect was stopped nearby and booked into the SCORE regional jail for investigation of fourth-degree assault.

CVS PHARMACY ROBBED: A 25-year-old Tukwila man was arrested after he led officers on a short foot chase following a robbery at the CVS Pharmacy on Carr Road.

The suspect jumped over the pharmacy counter and pushed an employee backward. He demanded codeine and then put multiple bottles of prescription drugs in a small basket and shopping bags.

Officers arrived within minutes and chased the suspect as he ran into the Red Town apartment complex with the help of a K9 unit. He was found hiding on a patio.

He claimed he was robbed of his cell and officers stomped on his face. Witnesses identified him through the clothing he was wearing; his face was covered.

He was booked for investigation of second-degree robbery at the King County Jail, where he told a Renton officer “I’m going to be coming for you.”

REAR WINDOW SHOT OUT: A 21-year-old Burien man confused by the signals at South Third and Rainier Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. March 10 heard some pedestrians call out, “What’s up? What’s up?”

He decided to find out whether there was a problem, so he made a U-turn and approached them. Two men pulled their hoodies over the noses to cover their faces. Realizing he was in a dangerous situation, the victim turned right onto Rainier.

His rear window shattered and he heard two or three gunshots in rapid succession. He backtracked to Safeway to flag down an officer there.
