Robbery resulting in injuries

Police were dispatched to Fred Meyer on 365 Renton Center Way on March 27 at approximately 10 a.m. after receiving reports of a strong-armed robbery.

According to information police received from witnesses and the victim at the scene, a man attempted to steal a woman’s purse as she headed for the entrance of the Fred Meyers, resulting in a struggle.

In the midst of the struggle, the woman’s cart —- with her young child sitting in the front —- tipped, with both the victim and child falling to the ground and suffering minor injuries.

The suspect fled the area on foot without the purse.

Officers located the suspect north of Fred Meyer based on the descriptions witnesses provided and positively identified him.

Police arrested and charged the man with a felony count of robbery in the first degree.

Robbery with shots fired

Renton police dispatched to Fortune Casino in the 100 Block of South 3rd Street on March 23 at approximately 6:26 p.m. after receiving reports of a robbery with a firearm.

The reporting party advised police that two subjects stole her phone and fired one round, with both suspects fleeing the location on foot, according to the department. Officers located a bullet and casing in the area.

Officers reviewed surveillance video showing two juvenile males grab the victim, take her phone and wallet, and run to a waiting vehicle, fleeing eastbound.

According to the department, the victim told officers they wanted their phone back but didn’t want to press charges if the suspects were located.

Robbery at gunpoint

Renton police dispatched to a residence on March 23 at approximately 8:51 p.m. after receiving reports of a robbery earlier in the day at Heritage Park in the 200 Block of Union Avenue Northeast.

A juvenile victim reported to police that four adult men wearing masks pulled up near him in a dark-colored truck as he walked home.

Frightened, the victim started running, according to the department. Three of the men exited the vehicle and chased after him, pushing him to the ground. One suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s forehead. The men stole the victim’s wallet and gold necklace and fled the area.

The victim did not know who the suspects were, according to the department.

Investigation into the incident continues.
