Renton firefighters place 22nd in Columbia climb

Renton Fire and Emergency Services placed 22nd out of 129 teams for fastest combined times scaling 69 floors of the Columbia Center in Seattle on Sunday, March 7.

Renton Fire and Emergency Services placed 22nd out of 129 teams for fastest combined times scaling 69 floors of the Columbia Center in Seattle on Sunday, March 7.

The annual climb is designed to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

This event is done in full firefighting gear while breathing air out of our air packs.

The following members made up the team, Deputy Chief Stan Engler and firefighters Daniel Powell, Pat Stalnaker, Daniel Alexander and Josh Brown. Lt. Tom Curtis made sure the team had air packs to take to this event and firefighter Donovan Eckhardt changed out the packs on the 40th floor.
