Renton firefighters help battle West HIll fire that displaced seven

A family of seven received housing, food and clothing assistance from the American Red Cross Friday after a fire heavily damaged their house on West Hill.

A family of seven received housing, food and clothing assistance from the American Red Cross Friday after a fire heavily damaged their house on West Hill.

King County Fire District 20 responded to the fire at a split-level house in the 7500 block of South 120th Street just after 5:15 p.m. The two occupants were waiting outside. Six engines, one ladder truck, two battalion chiefs from Skyway, Renton and Tukwila responded along with King County Medic One.

According to one of the occupants, the fire may have started by a candle that was left unattended, according to a fire district press release.
