Renton couldn’t stick with Kennedy Catholic and lost 43-7 Friday night.
The Indians (3-3 overall, 2-1 Seamount) played tough defense early and held the Lancers to seven points in the first quarter. Renton’s Ernie Davis keyed a defensive stop with a tackle for loss. Kennedy turned the ball over on downs two plays later at Renton’s two-yard line.
The Lancers’ offense eventually broke through and scored 21 unanswered points. Renton responded when Anthony Gold pushed in for a touchdown from a yard out with just over four minutes left in the first half.
The Indians stopped another long Kennedy drive before the half by forcing a fumble. Renton’s Jakari Armstrong recovered the ball at Renton’s four-yard line. Still, Renton trailed 27-7 at the half.
Kennedy added two more touchdowns in the third quarter, and scored on a safety in the fourth quarter.
