Rich Zwicker, a member of the Renton City Council, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Association of Washington Cities.

The association is made up of the state’s 281 cities and towns. Its board provides guidance regarding policies, resolutions and legislative proposals for the association’s members.

Zwicker is representing the association’s District 13, which includes Renton.

Zwicker has served on Renton City Council since 2008. He is the vice chairman of the Suburban Cities Association Caucus of King County Regional Water Quality Committee and is the City of Renton’s representative on WRIA 8.

“It is an honor serve as a board member of AWC and to have the opportunity to represent the interests of the cities in my district,” said Zwicker. “As we continue to face resource challenges I will continue to find ways to build strong partnerships and promote policies that prioritize our services, reduce costs and help us achieve our goals.”
