Renton City Council approves new speed limits on some roads

Speed limits on several non-arterial roads in Renton will be reduced to 20 mph.

The Renton City Council passed an ordinance to reduce speed limits on certain city roads during its June 12 meeting.

Ordinance No. 6113 reduces the speed limit of a handful of non-arterial roads from 25 mph to 20 mph. According to the ordinance, the speed limit changes will take place within five days of its passage.

The following streets will have speed limits reduced:

  • Northeast 32nd Street from Monterey Court Northeast to its Eastern end
  • Northeast 33rd Street from Northeast 33rd Place to its Eastern end
  • Northeast 33rd Place from Lincoln Avenue Northeast to Aberdeen Avenue Northeast
  • Northeast 34th Place from Lincoln Avenue Northeast to its Eastern end
  • Northeast 34th Place from Monterey Court Northeast to Monterey Lane Northeast
  • Northeast 35th Street from Aberdeen Avenue Northeast to 112th Place Southeast
  • Northeast 35th Place from Lincoln Avenue Northeast to Aberdeen Avenue Northeast
  • Lincoln Avenue Northeast from Northeast 36th Street to its South end
  • Monterey Court Northeast from Northeast 32nd Street to Northeast 36th Street
  • Monterey Lane Northeast from Northeast 33rd Place to Northeast 34th Place
  • Aberdeen Avenue Northeast from Northeast 33rd Place to Northeast 35th Place
  • Aberdeen Avenue Northeast from Northeast 27th Street to Northeast 28th Place
  • Northeast 28th Place from Aberdeen Avenue Northeast to its Western end
  • Northeast 28th Street from Aberdeen Avenue Northeast to its Western end
  • Northeast 28th Street from Aberdeen Avenue Northeast to its Eastern end
  • Blaine Avenue Northeast from Northeast 28th Street to its Eastern end
