Renton detectives suspect foul play in the missing persons case of a 54-year-old Renton woman.

According to a news release from the department, friends of Reyna Hernandez, 54, a small business owner, reported her missing to police on Feb. 28.

Hernandez, owner of Reyna’s Hair Salon at 3219 NE Sunset Boulevard, failed to return home, answer her cellphone, and show up to work for two days prior to the missing persons report.

Detectives have served multiple search warrants and “are following up on dozens of leads,” according to police.

“Evidence recovered in the search warrants indicates that Ms. Hernandez was taken against her will, and we do not believe her car is currently in the area,” according to police.

Meeghan Black, a spokesperson for the Renton Police Department, declined to provide further information regarding the nature of the evidence detectives discovered as a result of the active and ongoing investigation.

A friend reported he last communicated with Hernandez on Feb. 26 between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. as she was out running errands. According to police, Hernandez informed her friend she was heading to a home in South Renton.

According to police, family and friends of Hernandez still have not heard from her as of March 5, “which is highly unusual.”

“This is an active investigation, and more information will be available at a later time,” according to police.

A previous news release on March 1 described Hernandez as a 54-year-old Hispanic woman, 6 feet tall, approximately 210 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.
