Mudslide results in road blockages in Renton

A mudslide at the Houser Way Bypass and Sunset Boulevard North on Aug. 29 resulted in temporary road blockages.

The mudslide resulted in the shutdowns of both the northbound and southbound lanes as the slide continued to spread atop the roadway, according to the Renton Police Department’s social media.

Renton police responded at the scene to shut down the roads and provide traffic control, according to the department.

The department notified Renton’s streets and transportation department to take control of further action regarding the slide.

As of Aug. 30, roads reopened in the morning, according to the City of Renton’s social media.
