Assault in the second degree: Renton police responded on April 13 to the 1600 block of Kennewick Court Southeast after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. According to the department, the victim stated her ex-boyfriend assaulted her and she held a no-contact order against him. The suspect left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. According to the department, officers developed probable cause for a felony violation of a protection order and assault in the second degree.

DUI collision: Renton police responded on April 13 at approximately 1:46 a.m. to a four-vehicle collision that resulted in injuries in the 200 block of Maple Valley Highway. According to the department, law enforcement arrested a driver, suspected of driving under the influence, involved in the collision at the scene. Two individuals suffered serious injuries in the incident, according to the department. As police conducted a collision investigation of the incident, a driver attempted to drive around the collision and bypass traffic at a high rate of speed, resulting in officers obtaining his license plate number.

Threat with a gun: Renton police responded on April 9 at approximately 11:32 p.m. to the 200 block of South 3rd Street to a call reporting a threat with a weapon. According to the department, the victim stated another driver asked him to turn off his headlights as he was in a parking lot. He turned the car off, but the headlights didn’t shut off immediately, and the other driver yelled at him to turn the headlights off again, pulling out a gun and aiming it at the victim, prior to driving away.

Lack of evidence: Renton police responded on April 7 to an assault in progress in the 600 block of High Avenue South. According to the department, a man stated to officers two differing accounts of what occurred. The man settled on a story that he said something to the suspect, resulting in the suspect and his friend striking him. The victim additionally stated that the suspect threatened him with a machete. The suspects left the scene prior to the arrival of officers, according to the department. An additional officer located the suspect vehicle with three occupants. No weapon was located. As a result of the inconsistency of the man’s story and his intoxication levels, the officers did not have enough information to determine probable cause and released the suspects, according to the department.

Search for suspect: Renton police were dispatched to a dispute on April 10 in the 900 block of Aberdeen Avenue Northeast. En route to the location, dispatchers updated the call to a threat with a weapon, according to the department. A witness stated he saw a man aim a handgun at a second man. An additional witness stated she heard an argument. Officers searched the area. Law enforcement located no victim or suspect in the search.
