The following information was compiled from Renton Police Department case reports.

The 50-year-old Seattle man needed somewhere to urinate June 28, so he went through a fence into the backyard of a house on Jones Avenue Northeast.

That’s what he told a Renton Police officer when he was stopped on southbound Interstate 405 near the West Valley Highway exit.

In the back of his truck was a load of scrap metal that a neighbor saw him carrying from the backyard. The neighbor was watching the house for the owner.

The suspect didn’t know why he just didn’t go to a bathroom in a nearby business. The officer asked him whether it was reasonable to climb through a fence and into a yard just to urinate. He knows it was not and it was also wrong.

But he did deny taking the metal pipe.

He was booked into the SCORE regional jail for investigation of second-degree trespass and third-degree theft.

Meth user bites ER worker’s thumb

A 33-year-old Seattle woman being treated for methamphetamine usage June 28 bit the thumb of a staff member at Valley Medical Center’s emergency room.

The woman became verbal when her treatment was completed and she was discharged, waving her arms and slamming a pelvic-exam cart with her fists.

Fearing damage to the cart and injury to the woman, the staff member attempted to restrain her by grabbing her hands from the front. She pulled her hands toward her mouth and bit the staff member on the left thumb, puncturing the skin. He was treated.

The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.

Burglar gets a lift from garbage can

Someone stood on a garbage can June 30 to reach an open bathroom window in a home on Northeast 12th Street, where a jewelry box was stolen.

The suspect tripped the alarm system but grabbed the jewelry box from a dressing room and fled out the front door.

Neighbors didn’t report hearing the alarm sounding.

Two teenagers robbed at knife-point

Two teenagers walking along Northeast Eighth Street July 1 were asked whether they wanted to smoke with three men who pulled next to them in a blue sedan.

They ignored the request.

The car then stopped and the three got out. One of the men pointed a pocket knife at the 17-year-old’s body from about a foot away. Another passenger pointed a pocket knife at the 18-year-old.

The three demanded the teens’ wallets. One handed his over, but one of the suspects took the other teen’s wallet from his back pocket.

They then drove off.

The teens provided descriptions. One suspect was wearing a black beanie.
