Girl, 16, stabbed Tuesday as she walks from home near Lake Kathleen

A 16-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach with an “exacto” knife Tuesday as she left a shop at her house near Lake Kathleen east of Renton, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

A 16-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach with an “exacto” knife Tuesday as she left a shop at her house near Lake Kathleen east of Renton, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl told investigators an unknown man was standing outside as she opened the door at about noon. He grabbed the knife and stabbed her in the stomach; she suffered minor injuries.

She fought off the suspect, who fled. The assault occurred in the 14100 block of West Lake Kathleen Drive.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 30 years old, 5-foot-nine and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and black gloves.

He has short, dark, “spiky” hair, and a “small” beard.

The Sheriff Office’s Guardian 1 helicopter and a K-9 unit searched for the suspect.

King County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 206-296-3311.

Additionally, police remind residents to be aware of their surroundings and call 911 to report any suspicious activity in the area.
