Farmers Market kicks off Tuesday

The 15th annual Renton Farmers Market starts Tuesday, June 7 at Piazza Park. The market will be open 3-7 p.m., every Tuesday till Sept. 27.

The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with entertainment featuring Biff Moss, a cooking demo by Food $ense and Renton Recreation at the community booth.

Along with a long line of 60 vendors who are offering produce, baked goods, seafood, honey, meat, Washington wine, flowers, dairy and other items for sale, the market this year is featuring food trucks at Market West on every second Tuesday of each month.

Also new this year is MasterChef contestant and Renton resident Amanda Saab of AmandasPlate.com on four market days for chef demonstrations.

Celebrity gardener Ciscoe Morris will be joining the Green Day celebration on July 12.

Kid’s Patch allows kids to interact in fun activities, however, it is not a babysitting service. It is held weekly from 3 to 7 p.m.

Master Gardening, held weekly from 3 to 6 p.m., will help you with any plant or gardening problems, as well as help provide tips on how to manage your garden in a “science-based” and “sustainable” manner.

There will also be wine and beer-tasting booth in the main market the entire season.

Non-profit organizations are scheduled to be featured at the community booth. There is a full list of the lineup for this year online.

There is Metro’s Renton transit center is north of the market. There is bus access to the Piazza. There is also a two-hour free parking at City Center Parking Garage.

You can use a SNAP, EBT or Basic Food Card and receive Fresh Bucks Incentive dollars.

Due to city regulations, only service animals are allowed at the market.

The market is held at Piazza Park, 233 Burnett Ave. S., from 3-7 p.m., every Tuesday till Sept. 27.
