Ex-husband’s girlfriend shoots at victim: At 11:55 p.m. April 21 in the 200 block of South 3rd Street, an officer was conducting a business contact when he was flagged down by a motorist. The female driver told the officer her estranged husband’s girlfriend had shot her. She was shot in the hand and knee. Officers responded to the 300 block of Factory Avenue North, where the victim stated the shooting occurred. They located a shell casing and a damaged phone, consistent with damage from a bullet. Officers developed probable cause for the girlfriend-suspect for first-degree assault.

Aggressive driver shoots at another: At 1:49 a.m. April 24 in the 2700 block of Northeast 7th Street, officers responded to a shooting. The victim had driven to the 2900 block of Northeast 3rd Street to report the shooting. The victim stated that a gray hatchback was driving aggressively behind him, and the driver approached the victim as he was turning right and shot at his vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was not injured, and officers located a bullet hole in the fender. The investigation is ongoing.

Car stopped and robbed: At 8:04 a.m. April 24 in the 1200 block of Edmonds Avenue Northeast, officers responded to an assault report. The victim stated he was walking on Northeast 3rd Circle when a gray sedan pulled up beside him and three subjects exited the car. The three demanded his property, and one displayed a gun. The suspects assaulted the victim and stole his phone and a necklace he was wearing. The victim suffered minor injuries. It is believed the suspects may have been familiar with the victim.

Smoking fentanyl near the library: At 9:51 p.m. April 24 in the area of the downtown Renton library, an officer on routine patrol observed individuals loitering in front of the library. The officer stopped to observe and witnessed one individual smoking suspected illegal drugs. Upon contact, the suspect admitted to smoking fentanyl. After being arrested, officers located suspected drug paraphernalia on his person. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Suspected drunk driver arrested: At 12:53 a.m. April 27 in the 200 block of Southwest 16th Street, officers responded to a non-injury collision. On scene, a security guard stated he witnessed the suspect strike a vehicle in the parking lot and then park in a nearby spot. The officer questioned the suspect driver and learned he had been at his brother’s home and admitted to drinking. The suspect failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into jail.
