Two morning collisions, including one involving five vehicles on northbound Interstate 405 between Bellevue and Renton, on Tuesday, July 16, resulted in roadway blockages and a rollover.
The Washington State Department of Transportation first reported of a collision at 5 a.m. on northbound Interstate 405 south of Coal Creek Parkway Southeast blocking all lanes of traffic.
A picture captured of the multi-vehicle collision showed a vehicle flipped and the presence of first responders blocking all three lanes of traffic. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, emergency medical services responded alongside the Washington State Patrol to the scene.
At 5:40 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation announced the reopening of the right lane, with the two left lanes remaining blocked and significant traffic backups.
At 5:48 p.m., the department announced a secondary collision in Renton on northbound Interstate 405 near Northeast 30th Street blocking the HOV lane and resulting in additional traffic.
First responders cleared the roadway blockages resulting from both accidents at around 6 a.m.
