Car parked in the street: On Jan. 6, an officer noticed a vehicle parked in the street on Main Ave. S. near S. 3rd St. The officer activated his lights and contacted the driver. The officer witnessed her having difficulty standing and smelled a strong odor of intoxicants. After confirming that she was driving under the influence, she was arrested and booked into jail.
Burglar caught dragging safe out of home: At 2:51 p.m. Jan. 6, officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 15600 block of 138th Place SE. The reporting party stated that his security alarm alerted him that someone was in his home. He called the police and returned to his house, and when he arrived, the suspect was attempting to drag a safe out of the house. When the suspect saw the victim, he dropped the safe and fled. The victim reported that some cash was stolen.
Smoking methamphetamine: At 8:01 a.m. Jan. 9, in the 200 block of Burnett Ave. S., an officer witnessed a person using suspected drugs. When contacted, the suspect admitted to smoking methamphetamine, and he was arrested and booked into jail.
ATM burglary attempt: At 4:02 a.m. Jan. 11 in the 17800 block of 108th Ave. SE, officers arrived after the reporting party said he saw two males running from the building. Officers investigated and noticed a damaged and overturned ATM machine. The money was not accessed. Officers located the associated truck and discovered it was stolen. The suspects had fled the scene.
