Baseball: Renton wins second of season; Liberty wins big against Interlake

Renton 6, Evergreen 1

Renton got timely offense, strong pitching and enough defense to beat Evergreen 6-1 Monday.

The Indians (2-14 overall, 2-14 league) rebounded from a 13-10 loss to the Wolverines just last week.

Oliver Billon started and earned the win for Renton. Billon pitched five innings, allowed two hits and one walk. He struck out eight Bulldog batters. Adrian Scott pitched two innings in relief. He scored two runs and hit a double at the plate.

Liberty 11, Interlake 1

KingCo champion Liberty coasted to an 11-1 win against Interlake Monday.

The Patriots (16-3, 15-2) now hold a three-game lead in the KingCo and play one final regular season game Wednesday against Mercer Island.

Keegan Bennett pitched five innings and earned the win. Kyle Arbaugh went 2-3 with two RBIs and a double. Eric Etter went 2-2 with three RBIs and a double. Brian Kim went 1-3 with two RBIs.
