2016 Neighborhood grants announced

The 2016 Neighborhood Project Grants applications have been received and a total funding of $3,841.74 has been requested.

The Lacrosse Homeowner’s Association is requesting $1,715.25 in matching funds to add honeybee hives, fencing and signage to their community garden. The Winsper Homeowner’s Association is requesting $2,126.49 in matching funds to remove all wooden planks and platforms on children’s community play toy and replace them with a new poly-decking product.

The council appropriated $72,590 in the 2016 general fund budget for the three Neighborhood Grant Programs, which includes the Neighborhood Newsletter/Communication Grants, Neighborhood Project and Grants, and Neighborhood Mini-Grant Projects. The grant program provides neighborhood associates with opportunities to promote and improve their community while getting to know their neighborhood better.

The first reading for the Neighborhood Project Grants will be Monday, June 20.
