A two-alarm commercial fire on June 5 forced residents to evacuate at the Valley View Condominiums in the 12600 block of 57th Avenue South in Seattle.

The Renton Regional Fire Authority assisted Skyway Fire in addition with Puget Sound Fire and King County Medic One in responding to the fire at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the afternoon.

Upon arriving, crews observed a large thermal column and flames on multiple levels of the condominium. First responders upgraded the response to a two-alarm fire to request additional units, with units needed to address a resulting brush fire.

The fire injured two individuals, taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, according to the Renton Regional Fire Authority.

Crews remained on scene throughout the evening to extinguish flare-ups and hotspots. The King County Sheriff’s Office will conduct further investigation into the incident.
