Still lifes, landscapes on display at Carco Theater through March 31

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission is presenting original oil artwork by artist Michelle Waldele-Dick through March 31 at Carco Theatre.

The public can attend an opening reception 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, to view the art and meet with the artist.

Waldele-Dick still life and landscapes in the classical realist tradition. The subjects for her paintings are the places and things for which she feels a strong connection. She is drawn to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest where she has lived most of her life.

She is an alumna of the Gage Academy in Seattle, where she studied with such artists as John Morra, Anthony Ryder, Juliette Aristides, and Geoffrey Laurence.

Carco Theatre, adjacent to the Renton Community Center, is located at 1717 Maple Valley Highway at the intersection of I-405 and Maple Valley Highway.
