Photos: Erasmus the Dragon overlooks another 5K/10K in his honor

The Renton Dragon Dash took off April 14 on Wells Avenue.

The Renton Dragon Dash took off Sunday, April 14, beneath the statue of Erasmus the Rooftop Dragon on Wells Avenue.

A crowd of 300 5K and 10K runners and walkers and spectators — plus a few dragon-friendly dogs — gathered before 9 a.m. when the dash began. As they completed their 5K and 10K, vendors set up booths for a small Erasmus-inspired street fair complete with a mermaid booth, dancers, chalk drawings and a chance to pull a sword from the stone.
