Snoots on the water: Renton Pooch Plunge returns | Photos

An annual event to end the summer season, this year’s Pooch Plunge included sponsors from The Soggy Doggy and Junkyard Bones.

Even with a break in the heat, the 2024 Pooch Plunge at the Henry Moss Aquatic Center in Renton was a major success.

Fom 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Sept. 7-8, registered dogs of all breeds and sizes were given the opportunity to swim and play with tennis balls for 45 minutes, allowing space and fun for all. Dogs were offered “puppacinos” with special dog treat-topped whipped cream desserts and a “pet relief area” on the grass near the pools.

The Pooch Plunge has been a tradition at the aquatic center since at least 2013, where chlorine levels are lowered for the hounds to have their big swim before the outdoor pools are shut down for the winter.
