The editorial cartoon showing a Christmas tree with a broken ornament gives credit for social-service cuts to the wrong person. The governor has no choice. The state’s revenue will not support the level of services we have received in the past. This is partly due to the state of the economy, but another reason is the success of Tim Eyman’s initiatives to reduce government revenue. These ideas have been both popular and successful. We are making good progress on achieving his dream. Instead of whining, we should be grateful to Tim for leading this effort. After all, he could not have done it without our votes.
