Crown Yoga opens doors and chakras in Renton

“We have found that yoga helps people in many different ways,” said owner Sarah Espe.

On Nov. 14 — right before the 6:30 p.m. Hatha class led by yoga instructor Brooke Ada — Crown Yoga celebrated its official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, presented by the Renton Chamber of Commerce.

Founded and owned by Sarah Espe, Crown Yoga has been open to beginners and more experienced yogis alike since September.

“I knew I wanted a yoga studio up here in the Fairwood neighborhood — and, specifically, a place that was welcoming of all ability levels and body types,” said Espe. “Our studio is a space where people can begin and grow in their yoga practice as well as build a trusting community.”

Crown Yoga offers several different classes that are for different levels of experience. The majority are all-level classes, like Hatha, Slow Flow, Flow, Yin, Yinyasa, Restore, Meditation and Sound Bath. The intermediate class is Hatha Fusion and the advanced class is Power Flow, which includes arm balances and inversions.

Along with Espe, the instructors at Crown are Aimee Tayag, Allison Taylor, Brooke Ada, Daniel Davis, Drea Estrella, Michelle Font and Serena Tomaso.

“The instructors and I are excited to welcome the community to this lovely, renovated space, and share the benefits of yoga with everyone,” said Espe.

Yoga mats, blocks and other equipment are provided in studio, and each class includes an intention or reading, meditation, breathwork, poses, and ends with “yoga nidra,” or yogic rest.

Crown Yoga is located at 17056 116th Ave. SE at the Cascade Village in Renton. For more information, membership fees and discounts, visit crownyoga.co.
