After struggling to find offense early, Renton came back to beat Highline 49-46 Tuesday.
The Indians (10-9 overall, 10-5 Seamount) are in fourth place in the Seamount, one game behind Foster, Kennedy Catholic and Mount Rainier who are all tied for first.
Renton managed just two points in the second quarter and trailed by six at the half. The Indians pulled to within one at the end of the third quarter.
Darrin Briggs led the Indians against Highline with 13 points. Achoki Moikobu scored eight.
Renton has already clinched a playoff spot and its regular-season finale is Thursday against Foster. If the Indians can maintain the Seamount’s fourth seed (or better), they will avoid a play-in game into subdistricts.
Foster 68, Hazen 57
Hazen couldn’t hold on to a late lead and fell to Foster 68-57.
The Highlanders’ (11-9, 7-9) season is over. After a 23-14 run in the third quarter, Hazen took a two-point lead into the fourth. But Foster bounced back with a 20-7 run in the final period to take the lead and win.
R.J. Magar and Dewit Kasa each scored 13 to lead Hazen.
On the season, Magar led the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game. Kasa averaged 13.0.
Brandt Graybeal led the team in rebounding (9.1) and blocks (1.7). Decourious Sampson led the team in steals (1.9) and assists (6.0).
The Highlanders’ entire starting five, plus transfer Nathan Guy will return next season.
