Challenged to read a total of 100,000 minutes, the students at Tiffany Park Elementary School read more than 215,000 minutes over a two-week period, earning a glow-in-the-dark, “Readioactive” bowling party for the entire school.

The event was set up in the gym and classes were brought in throughout the day to take a shot at the black-lit alleys as a reward for meeting the reading challenge.

The kids wore glowing necklaces and other light-up garb and took turns trying for strikes. The school’s top readers were fifth-grader Rachel Knittle and first-grader April Huff.

Good Chevrolet helped sponsor the event.
