Chadd Garton K’s 11 for Hazen; Troy Askins steals three and hits homer for Liberty | Baseball

Chadd Garton’s curveball for a strikeout wrapped a tightly-fought, 4-3 win for Hazen over Lindbergh Wednesday.
Hazen (7-4 overall, 5-3 Seamount) scored all of it’s runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Highlanders got a two-RBI single from Travis Johnson, then RBI’s from Anthony Pina (sacrifice) and John Wall (single).
Garton pitched all seven innings, striking out 11 and walking five. He allowed five hits and three runs (none earned).
Lindbergh (6-3, 5-3) scored all three runs in the top of the fifth. Bakari Davis and Cameron Callen each had RBI singles in the inning.
Tommy Kawamura pitched the whole game for Lindbergh. He struck out five and walked five. He allowed seven hits and four runs.
Liberty 6, Interlake 5
Liberty’s steady offense was just enough to beat Interlake 6-5 Wednesday.
The Patriots (9-3, 9-1 KingCo 3A/2A) scored one run in each of the first four innings, then added two in the fifth.
Troy Askins went 3-4 with two RBI’s, two runs, three steals and a home run. John McLeod went 2-4 with an RBI. Peter Wiggum went 2-4 with a double.
Kennedy Catholic 12, Renton 0
Renton’s offense struggled to get started in a 12-0 loss to Kennedy Catholic Wednesday.
The Indians (0-9, 0-8) allowed runs in each of the first four innings.
