Seattle gas prices down from last week, but still above national average

The average cost of gasoline in the Seattle Metro Area is now about $3.96 per gallon, according to a report today from the AAA Auto Club of Washington.

But if you fill up before leaving Renton, you might end up paying less than that.

According to GasBuddy.com, Renton drivers can buy a gallon for as little as $3.63 at the Sam’s Club on South Grady Way or $3.65 at the ARCO, also on South Grady Way. The cost of ranges as high as $4.09 per gallon at the 76 on Southeast 128th Street and 164th Avenue Southeast.

The current national average for gasoline is $3.67 per gallon.

The Seattle average of $3.96 is up from $3.67 a month ago, but down considerably from the $4.33 per gallon we were paying last year at this time.
