Hazen loses to Foster by one; Renton tops Highline | Boys basketball

Hazen couldn’t quite hold on in a battle among Seamount leaders Monday. The Highlanders fell to Foster 40-39.

Hazen (9-3 overall, 5-3 Seamount) led by eight at the half and by six after three quarters, but the Bulldogs outscored the Highlanders 16-9 in the fourth to win. Foster remains on top in the Seamount with the win.

It was the lowest scoring total for Hazen this season.

Brandt Graybeal led the Highlanders with eight points. Dewit Kasa added seven.

Renton 64, Highline 58

The Renton boys basketball team held on to beat Highline 64-58 Monday despite a late push from the Pirates.

The Indians (5-6, 5-2) led by 11 heading into the fourth quarter, but Highline closed the gap to six before running out of steam.

Achoki Moikobu led Renton with 15 points. Laudon Thomas added 14.
