Those interested in shaping the development of Renton libraries are invited to attend an upcoming meeting in January.

The Dec. 11 meeting hosted by the City of Renton has been canceled and replaced by a new date. The next Library Open House will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Jan. 15, in Renton City Hall, Council Chambers.

According to a City of Renton press release, there is no new information and no substantive decision have been made for the Renton Library at Liberty Park. However, the release stated that engineers and architects have been discussing engineering alternatives for that site.

There are also no new updates for the Highlands Library. All involved parties on that project, Renton Housing Authority, Colpitts, the City and the King County Library System (KCLS) are still working on the purchase and sale agreements, the development agreement and the memorandum of understanding.
