Newcastle to repave Coal Creek Parkway this summer

Drivers who commute to the north of Renton may have an additional difficulty to deal with this summer.

Coal Creek Parkway, an arterial street in Newcastle used by commuters, will be repaved from mid-August to early September.

Repaving of four travel lanes and several intersections will occur for nearly a one-mile segment between Newcastle Way and Southeast 84th Way. Partial, and possibly full, street closures will be necessary during weekdays and/or weekends.

Exact dates and times have yet to be determined, but will be provided at a later date.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes.
