I-405 ALERT: 6 mile backup from Renton to Bellevue

A car crash blocked the two left lanes of southbound I-405 Wednesday afternoon, causing a 6-mile backup to State Route 520.

The accident was first reported at about 3:40 p.m. and wasn’t cleared until about 5 p.m.

The incident occurred just north of Northeast 44th Street in Renton, which is also near the Seahawks practice stadium.
