Purse lost and contents taken: At 12:16 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 300 block of Renton Center Way, a Renton Police officer was dispatched for a theft report by phone. The victim reported she was shopping, and after she returned home, she realized she had left her purse in the shopping cart. When she returned to the location, she could not find her purse. The next day, a Good Samaritan located her purse empty in a parking lot in the 400 block of Rainier Avenue South. The victim was given a case number. No suspect information is available.
Domestic violence: At 3:48 p.m. Aug 8 in the 1100 block of Oakesdale Avenue Southwest, officers responded to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, officers determined the victim’s ex-girlfriend was assaulting him, and he had to hold her back in self-defense. Once he let go, she assaulted him again, then left the area. There is probable cause to arrest the suspect.
Pepper spray robbery: At 4:43 pm Aug. 8 in the 3100 block of Main Avenue South, officers were dispatched for an armed robbery. The victim informed officers that at noon that day, he withdrew money at a bank in the 300 block of Grady Way and returned to his residence. The suspect followed him home, then pepper-sprayed and assaulted him. The suspect took his money and fled. The case is still under investigation.
Juvenile cornered: At 5:26 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 1700 block of Maple Valley Highway, officers were dispatched to a juvenile problem. The reporting party said that the day prior, his son was cornered in the locker room by a group of male juveniles who may have taken photos and videos of him. The investigation is ongoing.
Threat with a weapon: At 5:03 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 1800 block of Lind Avenue Southwest, officers were dispatched to a threat with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who said he was driving and passed the suspect on a mini bike in Kent. The suspect then followed the victim into Renton and pointed and waved a gun at him. Officers performed an area check for the suspect and located him in the 8800 block of South 180th Street in Kent. The victim was brought to the scene, and he positively identified the suspect. A firearm was recovered. He was arrested and booked for second-degree assault.
