Football: Seahawks honor Liberty’s Steve Valach as High School Coach of the Year

Liberty football coach Steve Valach was named the Seattle Seahawks High School Coach of the Year Sunday.

Valach was honored at half time of the Seahawks’ game against San Francisco Dec. 6.

Valach got a trophy and a $2,000 for the Liberty football program.

“It’s really a tribute to the whole team and the coaching staff,” Valach said. “I just get my name on the trophy.”

Liberty went 12-2 this season and finished second in the 3A state football tournament.
