The Kiwanis Club of Renton awarded five graduating high school seniors with scholarships this year.

Layla Mahmood, Ryan Mauery and Tyler Hughley from Lindbergh High School, Jessica Nguyen from Hazen High School and Emily Siangkam from Renton High School received $1,000 in scholarships each.

Each year the Kiwanis Club of Renton conducts an application and interview process to select Renton students for the scholarship. According to a press release, the students who were chosen “have proven to be community leaders and academically successful.”

“The selection process reveals exciting, driven and well-rounded students who are ready to continue their educational journey towards achieving their individual potential,” read the release.
