The American Cancer Society’s Cancer Resource Center at Valley Medical Center has marked its first anniversary. Sharing in the festivities Tuesday were Valley Medical Center employees, from left, Judy Quiroga and Eileen Mayer, “blowing out” their cupcakes. The Cancer Resource Center opened in February 2009 near the surgery entrance in the main lobby at the hospital. In the past year, the volunteers have provided service and support to more than 200 cancer patients and caregivers. The Resource Center currently has 14 volunteers who are available to help support and provide information to individuals who are experiencing cancer in their lives.
