Communities in Schools of Renton to hold benefit concert

Communities in Schools of Renton is hosting a benefit concert with world-renowned concert pianist Marvin Goldstein.
The concert is 7 p.m. June 10 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, 400 S. Second St., Renton.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the local non-profit CIS Renton.
This is a special performance for Goldstein.
Goldstein began his musical training at age 9. He studied at the Tel Aviv University School of Music in Isreal, and later continued his training at the famed Mozarteum of Salzberg, Austria. Performing for more than 50 years across three continents, Goldstein has acquired numerous honors, including a listing in Who’s Who of Music in Europe at Cambridge, England.
Communities in Schools is the nation’s leading organization dedicated to empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life. The organization’s Renton-based chapter connects more than 150 students in the Renton School District with mentors and provides for a Family Liaison Program that connects families to a comprehensive range of resources, to ensure children have a more stable, supportive home environment.
“Communities in Schools of Renton is so thankful for Marvin’s contribution,” said Sue Paro, executive director, CIS Renton. “This family friendly performance is the perfect way to treat yourself, family and friends to a special night of entertainment while helping support our organization’s work in the Renton community.”
Tickets are available for $25 and can be purchased at www.renton.ciswa.org or by calling 425-430-6658. Attendance is limited to 500 and advance purchase is encouraged.
