If you ever miss Renton Farmers Market on Tuesdays or you need more fresh produce, have no fear. There’s a new mobile produce stand in town.

The city has partnered with Sustainable Renton to bring you a farmstand that features organic, locally grown produce at affordable prices. And the Renton Senior Activity Center is the hub of this mobile produce stand.

“It’s a good community spot,” said Renton Farmers Market Manger Carrie Olson. “There’s a lot of people who can’t get to the Tuesday’s Farmers Market from 3 to 7 p.m. We’re trying to get to them a little bit. The senior center is really busy on Fridays, so we got a lot of people coming and going.”

All the produce comes from Sustainable Renton, a local nonprofit that’s committed to building a sustainable community by focusing on issues around food. The group currently has a community farm located at 11840 148th Ave. S.E.

The farm stand is open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every third Friday of the month at the senior center, 211 Burnett Ave. N.
