The Renton and Lindbergh track teams tied for the Seamount title after round-robin results at the Renton All-City meet May 6, 9.
The boys pole vault was delayed until May 9 due to weather, all other events went on as scheduled May 6.
Kennedy Catholic topped the Lindbergh boys 75-70, but Lindbergh beat both Renton and Hazen. Then both Renton and Hazen beat Kennedy.
On the girls side, Lindbergh beat Hazen 110-28 and Renton 88-61. Renton topped Hazen 84-56.
Lindbergh’s Mark Garcia won the 3,200-meter dash.
P.J. Benedictus pulled down wins in the triple jump, long jump and high jump for Renton. Justin Bennett won both the 100 and the 200. Both were also part of the Indians’ winning 4 X 100 relay, along with Robert Reeves III and Immanuel Carter. Carter won the 400 as well. Renton’s Adriel Paine IV won both the 800 and 1,600.
Renton also won the 4 X 400 relay (Tyler Yorita, Bennett, Hamilton Carter and Mikey Wong).
Hazen’s Jordan Bumgarner won the shot put and the discus. Varuna Bridgers won the 300-meter hurdles.
The boys meet featured some exceptionally close finishes. Bennett beat Kennedy’s Darian Brooks by 0.01 seconds in the 100. Paine beat Lindbergh’s Nathan Haley by less than half a second in the 1,600.
Kennedy’s Korry Miller beat Lindbergh’s Joe Simpson by 0.06 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles. Bridgers beat Simpson by a quarter of a second in the 300-meter hurdles.
On the girls side, Renton’s Amadi Bentley won the 100, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Sarah Reiter led Lindbergh with wins in the 800 and 1,600.
Lindbergh’s Janala Scott won the 200. Teammate Jasmine Fallgreen won the 3,200. The Eagles also won the 4 X 100 (Jazzmine Knox, Lisa Peterson, Scott and Kaitlin Zinsli) and the 4 X 200 (Tianna Banfro, Peterson, Scott, Zinsli). Renton’s Vanessa Tran won the shot put and discus.
