Armed carjacking on Fourth St. | Renton police blotter

Domestic violence: At 2:02 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 400 block of South Second Street, officers were dispatched to a physical domestic violence call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a crisis care team, which called 911 to report the incident after the victim disclosed an assault to them. Officers interviewed the victim, who stated he and his girlfriend were in a verbal argument that turned physical when she assaulted him. The girlfriend was arrested for second-degree domestic violence assault.
Shoplifting: At 6:09 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 1200 block of North Landing Way, an officer was dispatched to a shoplifting report. Dispatch relayed that two suspects were caught shoplifting and were detained at the location. Upon arrival, the officer interviewed the witness/employee who had recovered the stolen merchandise from the suspects. Both suspects were booked into jail.
Sex crime: At 11:36 a.m. Oct. 28 in the 100 block of Jericho Ave. Southeast, an officer was dispatched to be on standby while CPS interviewed a minor who reported a sex crime. The case is under investigation.
Wrong-way driver: At 5:01 a.m. Oct. 29 at South Third Street and Houser Way South, an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle facing westbound in eastbound-only lanes. The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, who showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and booked into jail for DUI.
Drug activity: At 5:01 p.m. Nov. 2 in the 1000 block of Bronson Way South, an officer on patrol witnessed drug activity. The officer contacted the subject and detained him. During a search, substances and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
Drug paraphernalia arrest: At 9:43 a.m. Nov. 3 in the 700 block of Rainier Avenue South, officers were dispatched for unwanted subjects. Upon arrival, officers contacted the subjects and informed them that they were being trespassed from the property and needed to leave. One suspect was detained after one of the officers noticed him holding drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked into jail.
Store robbery: 1:49 p.m. Nov. 3 in the 1200 block of Bronson Way North, officers responded to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who stated a male suspect armed with a gun entered the store and stole money from the register. The suspect then fled on foot. Officers checked the area and did not locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
Possession arrest: At 6:39 p.m. Nov. 4 in the 400 block of South Second Street, an officer on patrol spotted a known warrant suspect walking in the area. The officer contacted the suspect and detained her. While conducting a search, narcotics and paraphernalia were located. The suspect was booked into jail for outstanding warrants and drug possession.
Armed carjacking: At 5:30 a.m. Nov. 5 in the 3700 block of Northeast Fourth Street, officers were dispatched for a report of an armed carjacking. Upon arrival, officers contacted one victim, who stated that while getting ready for work, he was approached by two subjects. One was armed with a gun and stole belongings from his vehicle. Officers contacted the second victim, who said he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle when two subjects approached him. The suspects stole the victim’s car keys and left the area in his vehicle. The Des Moines Police Department later arrested the suspects.
Shoplifting: At 7:03 p.m. Nov. 5 in the 400 block of Rainier Avenue South, an officer was dispatched for a shoplifting. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the reporting party, who stated he witnessed two suspects shoplifting items from the store. The stolen items were recovered, and both suspects were trespassed from the property and booked into jail.
